With this new kaleidoscopic solo piece, Robert Lepage invites us behind the scenes of his mind, where we find his childhood memories, and those of a Quebec in the midst of a political rebirth. By opening the doors to 887 Murray Street in Quebec, where he lived from 1960 to 1970, he also opens the doors to a historic period influenced by the demands of the FLQ, Charles de Gaulle’s visit to Montreal and the creation of the Canadian flag.
A temporal and sensorial voyage that defies perception, 887 is another in a long line of spectacular solo plays that have built Robert Lepage’s reputation, from The Far Side of the Moon to The Andersen Project.
Co-presented with SFU Woodward’s Cultural Programs on the occasion of SFU’s 50th anniversary and with the support of the Quebec Governement.
