It is important for us to stay on the cutting of edge of what is happening on the arts scene in Vancouver. We read a great deal, we see a lot of productions and now, we want to share our favorites. Every two weeks, we will suggest a cultural outing for you. You liked it? Hated it? Tweet us what you think or leave us a note on our Facebook page.
This week, our pick is the most recent creation from Montreal’s Rubberbandance, Gravity of Center. The company is benefiting from a multi-media double bill in Vancouver this week. We were at the Cultch Tuesday night to see the company live as well as Studio 16 on Wednesday as their short film was part of Les Rendez-vous du cinéma québecois. Both times, we were captivated by choreographer Victor Quijada’s physical language with its pinpoint mix of urban, classical and contemporary dance. The dancers amaze with their extreme precision and effortless fluidity. Presented until this Saturday at the Cultch. Tickets are almost sold out so you better act fast.
