It is important for us to stay on the cutting of edge of what is happening on the arts scene in Vancouver. We read a great deal, we see a lot of productions and now, we want to share our favorites. Every two weeks, we will suggest a cultural outing for you. You liked it? Hated it? Tweet us what you think or leave us a note on our Facebook page.
It is not often that we get a chance to see opera in Vancouver, even less in French. That is why our suggestion this week is Dialogue des carmélites produced by Opera at UBC. On top of being able to see opera sung in la langue de Molière, you will get to see internationally acclaimed Canadian mezzo-soprano Judith Forst who will join the students of UBC’s school of Music on stage. The former musical director of the Vancouver Opera, David Agler, will conduct the production. And of course, the production is surtitled in English. Dialogue des carmélites will be on stage at the Chan Centre from February 7-10. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster. |
