For the past three weeks, they have been inspiring, surprising and tickling our funny bone in the rehearsal hall. Meet Katherine Gauthier, Marie-Claire Marcotte and Cory Haas, the three talented actors giving life to the heroes of our next production, Statu Quo.

Marie-Claire Marcotte is a rising start of French-Canadian theatre. Actor and playwright, she has worked with a dozen theatre companies across the country since graduating from George Brown’s conservatory in Toronto, in addition to projects developed through her own company, Beaver Theatre. Graced with a mysterious smile and a communicative manner, she’s the one we needed to play Sarah, the hero of Statu Quo.

Just as we were wondering whether we would ever find Statu Quo’s Simon, Cory Haas showed up at our door. Impressed by his timing, we offered him his first professional contract in French. A graduate from Capilano University in Acting for the Stage and Screen, this young actor born in France brings a cosmopolitan edge to Simon – literally, a tailor-made role for him. Read the interview
