What a joy!  Martha Wainwright makes a stop in Vancouver this Saturday (March 9) to promote her most recent opus, Come Home to Mama, at the Rio Theatre.  This Montrealer with the famous family- Loudon Wainwright and Kate McGarrigle are her parents and Rufus is her brother- studied theatre before embarking on a music career. And it shows! This folk-rock singer has a magnetic presence and a charming spontaneity on stage that makes each of her performances an intimate and unique moment.  We might be even treated to a few songs in French.  As an admirer of Piaf and Richard Desjardins, Wainwright enjoys regaling her audiences in the langue de Molière during her curtain calls.
