We are back for another year of recommended cultural outings. To stay abreast of what is happening on the arts scene in town and outside of it, we read plenty of scripts, scour festival brochures, and, mostly, we see lots and lots of performances. Every couple of weeks, we will share our favourite ones with you.
Michel Tremblay is to Québecois theatre what the Beattles are to popular music. He is a true icon. Our suggestion this week is to head over to the Writers Festival and see this giant of the Canadian literary scene in person. The Festival invites you to Studio 1 at CBC on October 23rd for a discussion (en français) with the writer of such classics as Les Belles-soeurs and La grosse femme d’à côté est enceinte. Tremblay has the reputation for being as interesting live as he is on the page. A must see.
