Job opportunity : Fundraising Coordinator

Théâtre la Seizième, the only French language, professional theatre company in BC, is looking for a fundraising coordinator.

SALARY: $20 to $24  per hour  (commensurate with experience) (25hrs / week)
START DATE : March 4, 2013
LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 2013-03-04 to 2013-09-30, with the possibility of renewal
The coordinator will work under the supervision of the Managing Director.


THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL
  • Identify new sponsorship and private funding opportunities and generate the necessary applications
  • Increase the number of sources from which the company draws its earned revenues. With that, look to increase the amount of earned revenues.
  • Participate in the writing of grant applications as required.
  • Maintain the current database of donors and sponsors.
  • Identify possible major season and production sponsors
  • Identify new individual donors
  • Support management and the board of directors during their meetings with new and current donors.
  • Coordinate the individual giving campaign in collaboration with management.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The ideal candidate will :

  • Have at least 2 years of experience in fundraising for not for profit organizations or in a related field
  • Be fluent in English with excellent writing skills
  • Be proficient in French with good writing skills
  • Be able to draft various types of documents with ease and clarity
  • Be able to work well in a team as well as independently
  • Be creative, organized and resourceful
  •  Have significant experience with the following software : MS Word,  Excel, Access, Outlook
  • Experience with developing and managing a database will be an asset
