Théâtre la Seizième’s Artistic and Managing Director Craig Holzschuh leaving the company
After 17 years with Théâtre la Seizième, award winning Artistic and Managing Director, Craig Holzschuh, has decided to leave the company to pursue new opportunities.
Under Craig Holzschuh’s direction, Théâtre la Seizième has garnered numerous prizes, fostered many successful theatrical collaborations and presented many great artists to Vancouver audiences. In the process, Holzschuh has gained recognition in the theatrical community across Canada for his outstanding vision and leadership. He has also left an indelible mark in the francophone community in BC.
Theatre goers will recall some of his most memorable directing works at Théâtre la Seizième : Un One-Way (1999), Cendres de cailloux (2001), Mathieu Mathématiques (2004), La vue d’en haut (2008), Lentement la beauté (2009), Porc-épic (2012), Statu Quo (2013) and À toi, pour toujours, ta Marie-Lou (2014) to name but a few. Craig has been nominated five times for Jessie Richardson awards and has won on three occasions. He remains the only individual to have received Jessies for directing in the Theatre for Young Audience, Small Theatre and Large Theatre categories. He was also honoured with the John Moffat and Larry Lillo award as well as the Marcus Prize and the Gérald and Henriette Moreau Prize.

Craig leaves behind a company prepared to continue moving forward and for this, we are very thankful », adds Marie-Claude Tremblay.
The Board fully anticipates having a new Artistic and Managing Director in place later this summer.
